We have just had a heap of work done on our Series II, and he is now a joy to drive.
The work included a carbie rebuilt by a club member (you're a saint, Derek), and it was wonderful to have a choke that you could turn off
However, we went to go out this morning and the choke does not work.
By that I mean that I can pull the choke button out all of the way, and nothing happens at the other end.
He eventually started, but the battery is now on the charger!
For the life of me (and I am quite mechanically-challenged) I cannot see anything loose or adrift.
We have a club run this coming weekend, and I do not want to have to push-start him down the hill to get there.
Any clues, please?
TIA,
Chris

Hey Chris,
When you pull the cable, can someone
else in the engine bay see if it is moving the choke mechanism?
Has the cable become detached from the choke lever?
Has the linkage some how been damaged?
When you did get it to run, was it idleing
at the normal rate or higher Revs?

You might find the outer sheath is cracked, when you pull & push the choke it just opens & closes the crack.
