Hi Skidmond.
Thanks for the note.
The vehicle was originally supplied as a chassis-cab in primer in 1960. I think its working life was spent with a home-made timber thing on the back which luckily, I didn't inherit !
I am not fussed about originality but don't like to stray too far from real Moggiedom so painted it 1970 Austin Morris Limeflower, a Traveller colour. My father had a '71 Traveller, index XFN 297J (where is it now?!) so I had to go with the same colour !! It is so unusual. I have only ever seen a handful.
My own first Moggie was a '64 2-door sedan. Will find a picture and post !

Thanks Scott.
It is not quite as nice as I had hoped as it always seems to cost tons more than at first envisaged ! But it will be solid and reliable I hope.
There is some rectification to be done.....a few areas of rust (wish I'd had it sand blasted now), and the roof has micro-blistered where I had it under a plastic sheet ! Derrrrr....!! I should have known better.
Overall I will be happy to get it on the road and address the odds and sods when I'm using it. It's been tooooo long in the making !
The fuel tank is essentially a Morris 1000 one except it has been increased to 9 gallons. The old 6 gallon one is rediculous for today's driving. Even more so where you are I guess !
All the best.

Hi.
I'm afraid I don't know the colour. I think it was a hand-paint job.
I will see what I can find out for you.

if anyone has the code it would be great, I have been to every major paint reseller on cairns to get it matched and they all come out wrong, the ute would be finished if I could get the right colour, I had resigned myself to painting it the closest colour match

Be warned, Grant. Most paint shops probably won't recognise this code as it's pretty old. If you can find a shop that's been around for years, you'd have better luck.
The code might need to have a "0" in front of it to make it 07361 - depends who you talk to.

Grant
From the information I received from PPG Industries Pty Ltd (Formerly Dulux) in Melbourne the formular for Coronation Blue is as follows. 300-07361 .
Leyland Motor Corp. 1959 Local
Tinter 01012 Setting 118
" 14189 " 250
" 01018 " 309
" 00300 " 382
" 01012 " 500
Hopefully you can make something out of these details.
Good luck
Geoffrey

No worries mate !
I think the pic was about 87 so around when you got hooked. I don't know what it is about these little cars....they have that certain something.
Mind you....I haven't driven one for about 10 years so may get in my ute and hate it......but I hope not !
Cheers
