wipers stroke and headlamp dull

Hi all two quick questions firstly to do with the wipers , they dont go out far enoughfrom the centre so can i alter the stroke to cover more of the windscreen ? and also just another quickie my front left hand headlight is dull on low beam ,so what might be causing that is it a bad earth maybe ?

There's no adjustment on the wiper stroke but if there's wear in the gear/cable, it can reduce th effective wiper sweep.

One fix is to rotate the wheel boxes 180deg to get to a fresh (unused) section of the gear & rotate the wiper cable 1/2 turn to use the other side (again, it's unused).

In theory, as the wiper cable is a spiral, rotate the wiper cable a few times (I'm guessing 10) which will rotate the wheel boxes to the new position, then go another 1/2 turn to get the new part of th cable working for you.
Make sure you remove the wiper arms before doing all of this Very Happy .

Oh, you can easily get to the wiper cable to do this job by removing the cover off the motor.

clean up the earth. i always run run new heavier cables.

You can also move the pin inside the motor assembly which attaches to the spiral cable, further from the centre for more sweep and closer for less sweep.

Hi i have followed what Scott wrote but i am still having a problem with the stroke as it still seems the same so maybe i dont quite understand Scott i must be a fick as a brick , anychance of some photos for me to follow ?
Also did what gmrhodes said to do but dont get that either boy not a good day where di all that time go to having such good fun bending over my Morry not
