G’day

What have you done to connect a demister to the vents in the dash?
Mine has the vents and nothing else, no ducting. We are planning on ducting air from the air con/heater for the job.
Is there ducting from something else that fits?
Thank you

Graham

you can justabout use anything as the duct
i know a guy using a denim tube (what was once an old pair of jeans) in his citron, it happens to be pretty similar to what was originally used.

I am using some spring rubber tube in my morrie. Tho you could probably find a correct sized silver air ducting somewhere

Very Happy Blue Sedan Graham, the proper vents pop up on ebay all the time, they are an original accessary by Smiths fitted to the MM. You can also try ESM have a look on there website, l have 2 sets but all needed for my resto's. l have also heard of members using 20mm plastic conduit, blocking one end, making a cut length ways and then heating conduit with a hot air gun to open up the slot. Vacum cleaner hose is good for ducting. I've squished the screen end, drilled two small holes in the fold under the dash and zip tied the duct in place. It's not airtight by any means, but works pretty well.

When my minor get pulled off the road and restored I am thinking of taking the heater out of my Midget (who needs a heater in a convertible) and putting it in the morrie, it should fit in the engine bay, the fan is built in the unit, all I have to do is duct it into the car, I could do it through the vents
