Well after Brisbane I was enthusiastic !!!!
Came home removed carpets and seats, ordered new carpets( Glen Waters Villawood Sydney) and new seat belts. The old ones with soft sockets kept falling under seats .
But alas till now nothing has been done . You know same old story Grandchildren, holidays , work, money etc. etc.
Turned a new leave and started to day.
Rear mudguard removed and repaired and repainted ( someone backed into me at Southgate Mall Brisbane.)
Jobs to do
Repair dent in other guard ( Brisbane also)
Fix and repaint bonnet( crack near lock)
Fit carpets and seat belts.
Also fit newly aquired 12G940 head and new cam
All this and hopefully get to Birthday Bash at Penrith

Should be finished by morning tea Yellow Convertible

I must admit, enthusiasm does ebb and flow a bit, but it is always better in Summer.

Very Happy Red Sedan Hi Don, how is the resto going?
My cam was designed by Colin Dodds ( 266) to suit my motor 1098 bored 60 thou, i told him l wanted the power all through the range not up high in the revs, and i did not want a thumping motor on idle, so when we put it on the Dyno it showed just that power down low and all through the ranges, although l have not got the motor in yet i'm very happy with the Dyno results, producing 83 BHP at 6500 revs.
Regards William Ballard. Blue Sedan

Hi John

My resto is going ... ahem... slowly. Very slowly. I haven't lost interest though.

Please forgive my ignorance, but who is Colin Dodd? Embarassed

Nice power--what carbs/exhaust manifold are you using to get that.

Are you using flat-top pistons or did you shave a chunk of the head to get the compression up.

Sorry about all the questions, but I will be doing my 1100 soon.

Cheers

Very Happy Red Ute Hi Don l answered your query about the cam not John as he is about to get his done,But it was John who introduced me to Colin.
I will do a story about my motor soon, it will give you all the technical data that l have recorded in it's developement you will be surprised!
It has cost me a lot of $$$$ but l just could not bring myself to repower with a Hybrid (Dorris or similar) which would have been a lot cheaper.

Colin Dodds calls himself Sprite Parts, he is at Dural NSW and is in my opinion the best engine builder of A series engines in Australia, you can go to his web site at www.spriteparts.com.au he is currently racing a Midget so is up to date with all the latest ideas.

I did not want a racing engine but just a smooth more powerful unit for a everyday driver and l think i have achieved that with the extra HP. Regards William Ballard Eye Rolls Red Sedan

Sorry William

I'm having trouble keeping track of all the Ballards on the Forum.

Or maybe I'm drinking too much red.

Thanks for the tip about Colin.

I'm looking forward to seeing your write-up of your engine build.

I had a local BMC engine builder lined up to do my 1100, but he has been sick for a long time and it looks like I'll have to find someone else to help me with it.

Cheers
Don
