for the rusty nuts and bolts try INOX, you can get it from supercheap, it snot cheap but it works.
dates can be found on the following items
starter
generator
distributor
voltage regulator
wiper motor
light switch
wiper switch
and i think the ignition switch has a date
make a note of ALL the dates and you will have a good idea of when it was built
there are some forum members that will have a better idea from the numbers on the plates that you have
seeing as you are in Brisbane if you like come along to the display day on the 17th October at ormiston state school to see some original and modified minors, we generally get around 50+ Minors

I would suggest from the registration number it is a 1957 model. How do you tell a car ia assembled in Brisbane?

Good to see one more Ute being saved.
Are you going to save the patina? there are some great wax coating you put over the faded paint to preserve it.
If you post the details of your ID tag I should be able to date it for you.

kustombruce - will grab the numbers off tomorrow and post them up for ya. will be getting a coat of gloss black when shes done, not a fan of dull green honestly plus there is heaps of surface rust. oh and by the way i love your ute, its the reason i got mine.

hi bludger
glad your coming to the display day, i think you will get many ideas and hints from the various owners
if you like your ute doesn't need to be complete as the display day is for ANY morrie in ANY condition.
we have had incomplete morries on trailers in the past
looking forward to meeting you and any one else on the forum, i will be the "young santa" showing you where to park
cheers

Hi bludger,
yes Carle and I normally share the parking duties on the day.
Your ute looks to be Silver Pine Green in colour and at a guess
maybe 1957/58/59 as the wiper stand has a square top. The corner
was angled after this date.
It will be good to catch up with you on the display day.

The small brass one would be the Howard's stock No. plate

The Morris Minor center in Sydney or any Mini specialist will have blank Nuffield plates.
