Hi Auspest
yes they are 99.9% finished. the fellow making them for
me did not have room in his workshop for my car which
meant he wqs back and forth with measuring and remakes etc.
But now they are just about there. Also I am running the twin carb set
up and also they will be suitable for a supercharger fitment if required.
Many Morris Minor Parts sellers used to keep A series Datsun
Extractors in stock to Suit Morries. I don't know if Sprite fitments
are any different. If you have no luck send me a PM with your
contact details and I'll give you additional info. good luck.
Also on the front leaking wheel cylinders, luckily it was only one.
It had a tiny scratch on the bore and I got it resleeved at Wynnum
and they did a good job. So now I have a good firm pedal and no leaks!
Yet to be road tested though!

The new header timber has 4 coats of Marine grade varnish on it,
and it seems a shame to cover it in the hood material because the
English Oak looks so good, that's the closest to a traveller I will ever get!
I've just booked the tilt tray for 7:30 am next Saturday the 12th of Feb
for transport from my place to the Auto Trimmers.
He should have it for a week or so and then I will post some more photo's.
The old Tourer will look so good, even my wife is getting a little
excited about seeing it with the roof on!
After this "hood" chapter of this very long book of the rebuild,
my next thoughts will turn to finishing the exhaust and
the electrical work. Then just a few fiddly finishing of things.

What do you think! DRIVE THE BLOODY THING ! HA HA!
BUT not to the Port.
Sorry I will not be attending the Nationals, I'm sorry, but
personal and work commitments are a bummer!
Especially seeing it is my birthday on GOOD FRIDAY.
Me in the Morrie Tourer at the Nationals would be a BLOODY GOOD FRIDAY!
But alas, it will not be............

And me after that Oli - so tell them to get a move on!
That header rail looks great Oli - just don't forget the foam insulation between it and the windscreen top - apparently makes all the difference to water and noise reduction.

I could maybe manage the hours, but not the $$$'s
Do you know how much a rag top costs? I'm broke!
I asked him about the "23 hours" and he said the hour off was for lunch!
