Does anyone have an idea for a suitable cruise control to adapt to the morrie. I have a toyota 1300 and was thinking about cruise controls.

Any suggestions ??

Kel

I've always used the Command cruise control systems & have fitted about 5-6 over the last 15 years or so to various cars, including two Morries.

K-Mart used to sell them but I don't think they do these days. Command themselves are based in Sydney & they have great back up if needed.

Looking at their website, it looks like they've branched out into more accessories so I hope they still offer the same service they used to. There's a 'retail' section listing who sells what.

G'day Kel

The guys in Geelong who fitted the new motor also fitted the cruise, not sure where they got it from.
Command have a web site so you would be able to find out from there and which model would be best for you.

The one in Morrx certainly made it easy going up to Port Maquarie, just get up to 110 on the GPS press the button and that is where she sat.

Cheers

Graham
I have an alternative reason for the cruise control.
I want to actually cruise at a sensible speed and let everyone have a good look at my morry.

Currently, I am pretty sure that there are lead weights in my right shoe. This causes the accelerator to creep down and the next thing I know, I am zooming past people , in a blurr, at 120 klms.

It is either new shoes or new cruise control. Pair of leather boots ($300) cruise control ($????)
People able to point with mouth open and maybe a thumbs up or a laugh. (priceless)
Regards
Kel

Do you recall which Command cruise control you used.

I have a telephone two installers and each one borked at installing it on a morry. They actually laughed. the hide of them.

If I purchase the kit and then get a professional to fit it, I maybe better off ??

Any ideas in Sydney, Newcastle area as to where I could get it installed ?

Regards
kel

I've used the AP50 in my MMs but that was a while ago now.

AP50:

My Range Rover has a slightly later version with this switch:

Looking at the Command brochure
http://www.tcag.com.au/documents/Cruise%20Controls%20Professional%202010.pdf
I would say you want the AP300 kit on page 5 along with the magnet sensing kit & use the CM7 switch on page 9. The switch should (well, it used to) come with a bracket so it can hang from under the MM dash. If it doesn't, it would be easy to make one anyway.

The kits are really quite easy to install yourself. They come with very comprehensive instructions & even used to come with a video too.
The kit also has various brackets/links, more than you'll ever need, to suit all sorts of vehicles.

(I hope the pictures work....I can't see them at work)

Well, I got the crusie control working after about 5 hours. I had a command AP60 installed.
We had trouble with the system as my brake lights are LED's. Not sure how this caused trouble but the installer insisted that the AP 60 was the best suited for the morry, but is the only one that has trouble with LED's omn the brake lights.

Overall, I am pleased with it

I can rest the legs and foot away from the throttle now.

I can set it at 100klms and sit back and wave to all the people looking at the morry.

The weight of my foot will have nothing to do with my speed now Very Happy Very Happy

Regards
Kel
