not much help but my 1967 Falcon wagon came with a home made demister,
it was a copper tube placed very close to the demister holes in the dash and linked to the engine with a ball valve as a switch Shocked Shocked

You can gat bar type demisters that fit to the lower edge of the windscreen if that's all you want.

Like this:

I wouldn't say they're the most efficient demister around though but being in Port Macquarie, it may be all you need.

Thanks to all who responded with help. I have decided to use a 12v hair dryer, I have purchased one here in Port at the local camping shop for $25 and also on the packet it advertises for windscreen demisting. The shop owner said he mostly sells them to guys like me and they are also very popular with the hot rod blokes.
So if anyone has any ideas or has hooked up one with ducting your advise would be greatly appreciated.

You can mount a length of conduit under the demister vent. Plug one end & drill a series of holes or a slot for an outlet.

Find a place to mount your dryer then hook it up with some flaxible ducting, either new or from a wrecking yard.
