G,day all
Kel - the problem is that because a lot of people do not know of their existance they don't know what to look for. A while back I went to Bunnings to get some inserts and the 'experts' there had no knowledge of them.
Cheers Bob

Bob
They are a great little idea. Who ever invented them must have been clever.

You need to have the tool too use the nuts, so please don't just order the nuts.

Buy a kit to start with, to get the hang of them.

I only learnt about them a year or two back.

Kel

G'day all
Kel - I have been using them for years. The visit to Bunnings was to hopefully get some replacement inserts for the kit I borrowed from my son.
As you say they are great things. The last time I used them was to secure a fire extinguisher to the left front kick panel. There is no access to the rear of this panel so Nutserts were used.
Cheers Bob

Aluminium, stainless, zinc plated steel.....countersunk, hexagonal hole, round hole....there are many options with rivnuts. What do I use, if for instance I wish to replace captive nuts in wheel arches (that hold mudguards? or other captive nuts that are missing or damaged? Blue Ute

The tool is best for the steel rivnuts but the aluminium ones can be fitted with a bolt & nut setup to compress it into position.
