As i have my Utility cabin off and doing some welding I have taken the chance to change my wipers to the late model "parallel" type.
It meant cutting a new hole in the scuttle at the appropriate place (I had measured a series 5 van before, Boeing Bob's from this Forum)
You then fit the passenger side gear in the new hole and mark the position cutting the tube on the side facing the drivers side gear.
I put on flange on the pipe as per original with a brake pipe tool , and re-joined the pipe using a 35mm electrical crimp link soldered on which was the perfect size.
Of course whilst out I cleaned and regreased the drive cable lubricated the drive gears and fitted new "O" ring on the top next to the drive spline.
The biggest job was patching the redundant hole.
Don't forget you need two similar wiper arms now.
