I have posted a few queeries lately, must be because I am getting close to finishing my Morry 1000 and I have to solve all the issues from the too hard basket. Regarding the Smith heater, can a new circular core be bought in Australia to replace a leaky one? I have 2 second hand units but no ducting or outlets. Have not had any response to my request for a source for a reproduced rubber front floor mat, does this mean they are not available?
Regards Brian Sweet

Re: Heater.
I'm not sure about replacement cores, but leaks can often be repaired by a radiator shop. Unless of course, it's falling apart & can't be repaired.
Give one of the Morris Minor places a call if you get stuck - they might know.
Maybe a PM / email to Rustbucket might help with the mat.
He mentioned that the repro ones don't have the emblem so maybe he knows who makes them.

They're not the type.
It's the whole front floor section he wants. It'd be the same as your LCV ones.

no I have not received any more info and have not decided whether to use heater or not. I may just test it with water pessure from a hose, I will have to decide soon as I am getting close to finishing.

Clamp each end of the tube over the heater core pipes & inflate to around 10psi at first.
The Morris Minor only pressurises to around 4psi.
Take it a bit higher if you really want to test the heater core.
(I'd soak the heater in descaler first to remove any debris inside that might block a leak point)

Make sure the heater is all assembelled when you test it, dont test the core only (I know) do you remember the little squeaze box accordians, the core relise on the frame to stop it expanding & destroying it self.
