Hi, I’m new on the message board. I live in Holland. My Morris is a MM 1952. The car is a CKD and build in Holland (LHD). I have the car complete dismantled and have now make a start with removing the paint. I hope that the photo is visible so you can see the result.

Zijn er nederlandse emigranten lid van de Australian Morris Minor Club?
Have the Australian Morris Minor club (emigrant) Dutch members?

Hi Wimor, welcome along to our little Morris Minor forum.

Your picture isn't coming up, but as soon as I go to this post, there's a pop up from some "homedrive.home.nl" site asking me to log in Eye Rolls .

Sorry to say this, but this pop up is a bit annoying so I've taken the "img" bits off your post.
If there's a problem putting up a photo, email it to me & hopefully I'll be able to put it in your post Very Happy .

Skidmond

Thanks for you welcome on the board. The atmosphere on this board pleased me.
I will make the car original. She/he is for 95% original. It’s not a car for daily use. She/he has a side valve engine without water pump and therefore no heather. I now that you have a lot of spare parts in your country. I am searching now a front bumper valance. Scott has told me that many cars in Australia are modified. I understand why, but its a pity that so beautiful English technology change through modern Japanese technology.

Greetings,

Wimor

Skidmond, the '52 has a different one from the 1000 - but of course, you knew that Very Happy Very Happy .

Wimor, there's still plenty of original Morris Minors around, it's mainly the everyday cars that are modified. I have 2 completely standard cars on the road & 2 modified (one for everyday, the other for weekends & holidays).

When somebody have a front bumper valance panel in good condition. Please contact me. It’s for my MM 1952. I think that shipping costs to NL for only the panel is not so expensive (I hope)

I will possibly change for original wooden shoes in your size. Hand made in Holland.

Greetings,

Willem

No photo, just an X Mad .

Without the "img" around your link, it brings up this:
Bestand of map niet gevonden
Het gevraagde bestand of de gevraagde map bestaan niet. Misschien is het bestand of de map verwijderd of heeft de pagina waar u vandaan komt een incorrecte verwijzing.

If you want to send your photo through again, I'll put it in your post Very Happy .

So, just jumping in on this one.

Series MM parts are easily available down under then? Any bits you can't get easily?

If you know where to go, then most parts are available.
There's a lot of engine parts (pistons, bearings, gaskets) coming from India. I suppose I'll have to use that stuff one day but I'd rather hunt around for NOS parts first.

Decent body panels can be hard to get though, especially front panels & bumpers.
Real early MM bits are like hens teeth (brake drums/hubs, tail lights, windscreen chrome surrounds & rubbers - not like the later ones & SII Mad ) but there only 2 or 3 cars here that have them so there's no demand to enable reproduction parts.

Water pumps for the later sidevalves are virtually impossible to obtain, but there's hardly any cars here with them.

Trim parts all have to be reproduced/remade locally.
