Ignition Issues
I have recently replaced the ignition component in my Morris Major Elite as the barrel was loose. Now I think i found how it was damaged. When I turn the key in the new ignition, the whole unit turns a bit. I can't seem to get the front of the unit (a round silver piece) screwed on tightly enough to anchor it. I can see the new barrel will be damaged again in no time. Can anyone suggest a part, maybe a special washer or something that might be missing??

I assume the ignition switch fits behind a panel then the collar fits over a male thread.
How about fitting a fibre washer onto the switch before fitting it to the panel. It will take up a mm of thread which would be enough to enable the collar to hold it all together.
