G'day Luke

Welcome to our little community.
What are the details of your car?
Pictures are always good.

Remember the only silly question is the one not asked. We all started from the same place just some of us more recently than others.

hi graham

its a 1958 ,4 door , camden cream 5 is the colour on the plate. it runs but i willl change the plugs ,oil and leads probably this week. everything is there and i want to get the trafficators working.

i also have a 1978 moke which im also working on which should be ready for rego soon aswell.

i will hopefully bleed the brakes and give it a good clean and then get some pictures to put up here

hi everyone

i havent been on in a while but in that time i have been polishing the car and it is coming along quite nicely.

i have also put in a temp guage which has pointed out that it is a bit hot. so i have taken the water pump off and i was wondering what that little screw in the water pump does and can i just put in a standed mini/moke water pump on there?

cheers
luke

No idea about the screw, but I've always used the over the counter a series/mini/moke water pump, usual change the hose that goes to the head at the same time, easier to change then, just be careful of hose quality, ones good ones bad

Very Happy :oops:HI 58 morris, the screw is what you take out for lubricating the bearing in the water pump with an oil can, the water pumps look the same but always buy one with a cast iron impeller instead of the pressed metal one as they don't last and rust out quicker, sometimes the impeller fouls on No1 cylinder, if that happens just relieve where it touches with a hand lathe (small angle grinder). regards William Ballard.
