Radio Suppressor

I have a small problem with my Morris Minor radio, around town all works OK but as I get further from the selected station I have a noise over radio every time the electric pump makes contact, the noise gets louder as I get further away.
Has anyone fitted a capacitor on the pump to suppress this noise??

From memory I think I connected one to the radio ~( back in the day when I was a young fella Shocked

I have one on the Alternator but not on the pump.
This is a newer radio/CD player vintage 2006.

I can always play a few 50/60's CD.s But I will also have to keep my eye on the lady towing the van in front of me.
