hi everyone, well my girlfriend and I are the proud owners of a 1958 traveller that we purchased from a guy in Edinburgh, scotland, last year. Unfortunantly I tore a hole in the sump 2 days ago and the brakes have also decided to fail recently so it has been put to rest for a little while whilst I get on with sorting new bits for it.
It is running a knackered 1058cc with the standard crunchy 4 speed. The brakes hopefully will very soon consist of mk3 ford capri vented discs with standard capri calipers. The engine will probably be rebuilt with an unleaded head with a few upgrades, but nothing to serious. I am hopeing to only complete modifications to it that will enhance it and not ruin its value as our plan is to bring it to oz to possibly sell in a little over a year.
Sorry no photos just yet. will work on them.
cheers, michael.

Hello all, small-ish update on the traveller project from over here in scotland. Well the new engine(12a rotary) is just about ready for final fitting after a few engine bay mods for clearance. The steering rack is now living inside the cabin to give more clearance to the gearbox. The brakes are vented discs with 4 pot calipers. I have just arranged the front suspension which will be spax coilovers and the MK1 escort diff is in place awaiting new shock absorbers to be fitted. Hopeing to have it ready for electrical work by the end of next week. Really aiming ot get it running asap so that I can be off to Germany to the Nurburgring before summer is away for the year.
cheers, michael.

Peter (Morrymadness) has a Minor with a rotary engine. I'm not sure if it's a 10A or 12A but it still has the rack in the original spot.
How's your steering geometry with the rack inside the car ?

Hi all, hpoefully I will be able to get some photos up next week when there is a bit more to see. The steering geometry seems fine but have only limited usage time so far and will have to see once the car is running properly. I had to move the rack to lift the engine up a wee bit bit more for sump clearance and also the clutch fork fouled the rack.
cheers, michael.

Hi, i thought of cutting the bellhousing too but it turned out to be the clutch fork that was in the wasy. I am trying to use a series 4 rx7 5 speed but am having problems with the flywheel (lightened) and the clutch as they are custom items and the starter wont align with them. I owuld really appreciate seeing photos of yours. Cheers, michael.
