Hi Tony,

Looks great, just wish I had your metal work skills.

How does the roof line of the cab line up with the cab closing panel, are they close or do they need some alignment....

this is one project I always wished I could do, I would love a ute but being 2m tall, it is impossible for me to fit behind the wheel in a standard ute cab Shocked Embarassed

regards

The bloke (Paul) doing the work in the shot and I played around with the shape and it came to within a bee's leg of SPOT ON about 4 in behind the door of the two door.
we laid the frame from the old ute ,cross section that the back bolts to on the roof and had to remove 1/2 in from my origional cut this had a 1/2in overlap onto the 2 door roof with lots of 6mm holes to through weld and will be fully welded in the long run as well.
fun at the moment is the new rear floor and the section that relays back up to the rear of the cab ,we are working from a 2in exhaust pipe (i'll post tomorrow picks)also tunnel from Oscar that was removed BIG MISTAKE should have left it in as a better and permanent reference point but we do get carried away sometimes. At the time we knew that the 2 door's floor was to low for the ute chassis so we just choped the lot.
The exhaust pipe will give a smoth rear end at the bottom for the rear wall and with a bit more bending give a smooth run into the side skirt.

Looks great Tony,
Keep sending plenty of photos.
What running gear are you using?
Will it run on a standard Chassis
or an extended one?
What type of rear tray/bed will you use?

I've often thought, (that's as far as it got)
on doing a van in the same way and
extending the chassis to suit.
I don't know how legal it would be.

OK this is what she will be towing when finished so I kin go on holidays
running gear..torana disc,s on Morris all round
standard chassis
tray...seethe photo above that be a hint as to the woodern tray back.
Got myself a 20gal (notsure how many lt's that be) stainless keg from way back and that will be the tank (with appropate XXXX sign or just BEER)
I did look at the van idea as well just shorting the van back to suit the now shorter chassis length ,or the fact that the cab takes up so much more space on the ute chassis.
never happened as the van back was to far gone and there was no room for the yellow MADASS 125cc scoot (please to pronounce Mar-Dass ) if you get anywhere near the wife oh mine.
that I am worming my way too !!!! Google that it plain crazy..
any way that it untill I get a pick or two of the floor sections being field tested now..
Tony

Put XXXX on your tank, rather than BEER.

That way, no one will steal/syphon it.

I 'dropped in' on Tony this morning and checked out the project utility.

I was very impressed with it, it has given me some good ideas. It is something I hope to do one day as well.

Keep up the good work Tony and hope to see you for a visit to Tas sooner rather than later...

oh, bring me a carton of xxxx with ya Shocked
