Must be ute season , I picked up a ute as well yesterday. It was sitting in a yard around the corner from work - the bloke who owned it pulled it off the road in 1990 for an engine upgrade and a birthday - he got the motor and box in it and painted it then let it sit for the next 10 years Eye Rolls
It has a 1400 Datsun and a 5 speed box , Marina diff , Major brakes etc.
Body looks pretty good but the chassis needs a bit of lovin'
Pics - pumping up the tyres Very Happy

On the trailer heading to its new home

Is the extended cab-back fibreglass or metal?

The cab extension is all steel - looking at that photo I think its time I painted my trailer Shocked

Found some goodies in the boxes in it - a full set of VDO guages, a rubber kit , a heap of electrical plugs , wire and connectors , Datto workshop manuals , some tools plus a few other bits and pieces

The chassis number is OFE53A40311 and the original engine number was 04279916 according to some old rego papers I found in it tonight.
I gather there is someone who keeps some kind of a register of these things ???

Yes , saw that ute - looks good. Probably cheaper to buy one already done if you can find one than to rebuild but at least when you rebuild you know what you are getting and its exactly what you want .
