I'm researching 2 speeds wiper motors for my '58 ute.
Can any other brands be adapted to fit?
How much would one expect to pay for one?
Anyone have one for sale?

if you are after cable type 2 speed motors they come in late mini, marina & triumph MK2 sedan are the ones i know about.
you will have to change the plastic wheel in side these units as well to match the sweep angle/area on the minor

ahhh the land crab Very Happy yep they are cable motors but only single speed also the 1500/nomad and the earlier minis are all singles,
however if you have a tame sparky, most of the the 'round' motors can be converted to 2 speed as the brush plate has proviso for the extra brush.
hope this makes sense Shocked
jaguar, hey; thats one to file away in the brain for later Very Happy

Land Rover Defender wiper motors look much the same as Marina wiper motors.

Thanks for the comments.
I know a chap who is into Land Rovers. I'll
see if he has a spare wiper motor.

Yellow Van

A few years back, I bought a 2 speed wiper on ebay which was out of a late model Sunbeam. I can't remember what model but it was a name I had never heard before and I am reasonbably familiar with Australian models. When it arrived, it was exactly the same externally as a Morry except for the connector plug which had more wires in it. Internally, all I had to do was remove the Sunbeam drive wheel and fit my Morry drive wheel (straight swap) to get the correct sweep. It even had a proper set up internally for the park switch which can be adjusted by turning a knurled knob. I then connected this up using a headlight switch to get the two speeds. Works perfect.

Perhaps there is a Sunbeam spare store in England that maybe able to provide more information.

Boeing Bob.

Got one! I was given a 2 speed motor, original switch and wiring diagram from a Mk2. Jag. Looks like it should fit in. Heaps of wires to sort out.
The Jag w/motor has a knurled knob to adjust the park position
for the wipers.
