the overall condition is really good with very little rust
weels r off but all 4 are different makes...
just took out the engine the other day...long story! really funny
its a real pain trying to get out the front window with old hard cracked rubber but its out now too! see ya, Ade

well here i go!
i got a crane for lifting the engine out of the morrie off a friend. after a while staring at the thing i came to realise that it had been changed! now im not familiar with cranes but this one didn't have any weels so l couldn't get the engine from the car to the bench Mad so i then manoeuved the engine onto the floor. i then took the thing apart on the ground gearbox etc and moved the parts to the bench with help!
After all this time i finally tipped the engine up to take the sump off when i was suddenly informed that there was oil going every where for i forgot to drain it (i swear i did it earlier!)

That's the sort of story we love.
Now you're "experienced" at removing engines Very Happy Very Happy .

I have an immovable engine crane (it's part of the house) & I find it easier to roll the car out of the way Very Happy .

thats a good idea. Very Happy
ive taken the weels off already and the morrie is on 4 jacks and the bench is a bit of a distance from the car.
i think ill just have to buy one(with weels)!

i started to take the back window today but its not out yet, im finding it pritty hard to do. the rubber is to be replaced but im keeping the glass.
im afraid that the roof material is going to come loose. I've lifted up the rubber around the inside of the window and can see (i think) metal tags holding the roof lining in place so it wouldn't affect it when i take out the window...
is this the case?

just cut out the rubber from the front and the glass will lift out, use a safety or stanley knife, the roof lining won't come down if you remove the glass

The metal tags hold the headlining in place by a wire cable. Just make sure you don't cut the cable & you should be OK.
The window fits from the inside so you'll have to push it in rather than lift it out.

I cut the front out of the rubber on both my 2 door and ute rear screens so the rubber hold the screen in place and you can do the job on your own and just lift the glass out

Adrian
Do not forget rear window fits from inside not out. I.E. window is bigger than hole
This stops window blowing out whilst travelling with windows down.
My lining was very badly water stained, so after I had the window out I cut out a small piece of clean as new material (which had spent its life under the rubber) and had my local paint shop match it with Vinyl Paint.
Simply mask up and spray. The results are unbelievable.
The lining stays in with both windscreens out. Yellow Sedan Yellow Sedan Eye Rolls Very Happy

Hopefully, after 3 1/2 months, the motor might be back in already Very Happy Very Happy . (Certainly not if I'm restoring it, but in Adrian's first posting, he did say it was quickly being restored).

I wonder how it's going........cooooeeeee Adrian Very Happy .

Thats going to be a NICE looking morry

Just when did they change the position and style of the complience plate or did they it only apply to LCV's like mine ( a Ute ) that was built in 1960, finished in 1962(?)..anyone know

Wow, great bodywork Adrian. Looks like she will be a show stopper when completed.
Are you in the club? It would be good to see you on a run when you are on the road.

thanks, today i screwed in the fuel tank and put a new rubber strip around the rear left wing. I also painted more parts ready to go on the car. Things to do next are chroming and sandblasting the weels.
I was hoping I'd have the morrie finished by February but unfortunately I wont be so lucky.

Morrystu I'm not shaw about the changes of the complience plates, maybe someone else can help you out in that field. Eye Rolls

I'm currently in no clubs but I will when I get around to it!
Can't wait till it's driving!!!!! Adrian
