Um Shawn, I hate to point this out but you have an early Series II front bumper.
The over riders are in a different spot on the 1000 type bumper (further apart) & you won't have those gaps under the front guards.

Ok, here's the story of last weekend.
Firstly, I had booked my roadworthy for early Monday morning. That was my deadline.
Saturday was an uneventful but full day of refitting and finishing small jobs. All went to plan, and by Saturday evening I was well ahead of schedule, with only a couple of polishing and trimming jobs to do. All was right with the world.
Sunday dawned bright and clear, so, being so far ahead of schedule, I decided to fit the poly top trunnion rubbers I had had for ages. This might have seemed like a risky move, but here again all went well, and a great improvement was had from the new rubbers.
This took me to about 11am, still with heaps of time up my sleeve, I went to fit the wiper arms. I had one wiper box set up incorrectly, so the newly fitted LHS glovebox had to come out and the box corrected. Suddenly a 10 minute had taken over an hour. Still, I had heaps of time.
I went for the shortest of test drives to the top of the drive, and then drove back into the garage. Leaving the engine running, I went inside to wash my hands. Returning a couple of minutes later, I was greeted with this:
The front core plug had popped out completely; I mustn't have fitted it properly. I tried to re-fit it, but couldn't get a seal. Of course, I didn't have a spare, so a frantic call and visit to Alex Connors saw me right. I managed to fit the new plug ok, but by then my afternoon was gone.
Another small driveway manouvre to led to a rear brake cylinder popping. There was swearing. (I also remembered TrevAus's advice to leave the brakes to last )
Another call to Alex, and an early morning visit saw me right again. I fitted the cylinder and bled the brakes in record time, and arrived at my safety cert appointment with about 10 minutes to spare. The trip there and back was nervous. but uneventful.
All went well at the safety certificate appointment and the following visit to the Dept. of Transport. So now I'm registered.
So here's a massive thankyou to al those who have given advice and suggestions along the way, and an even bigger thankyou to Alex Connors, because without his last minute help this simply would not have happened.
Here's some pics:

Thanks for your kind words. Indeed, I still look at it myself sometimes, as a reminder.

I actually commented to dad today as we were working on my car 'I should make Shawn's before and after my wallpaper... for encouragement!'
