After leaving my lights on and having a flat battery I installed a buzzer years ago.
My method was an N/C relay fitted with the coil in it driven by the ignition wire, then a cable from the on side of the headlight switch goes through relay to buzzer.
Turn lights on buzzer goes on, turn ignition on it stops so you cannot have lights on without engine running.
