Hello Kustombruce,
That's a fine looking project you have there. Lovely chop. I joined up with the intention of finding a project for my son and keeping it simple… your thread has made me realise I am about to get sucked into another big project. Nice work, cool ride.
Cheers
Ed

I was trying for the Nationals at Port, but wont make it, still way to many small jobs to do plus upholstery and paint which will take a few weeks. I then have to hope my engineer is happy with the changes he made me do. Morrie Muster in June is the next target, or the Denny Ute muster.

I heard a bit of a rumour that Mr Spence was pulling the pin. Did I hear right?

I understand the business is for sale, and has been for a while, whether or not he will stop engineering, I have no idea. Its one reason I want to get Clockwork painted, and get the speedo set so I can get it to him and get the certificate all done.

Finally after the planets aligned this week I have got clockwork ready for paint, well the body and doors anyway.
Hope to have some photos for you all on Sunday with it looking all silver.
It has taken way to much time to get to this point but I will hopefully be motivated to get it finished.
The rear tray is also in primer so not much work to get it ready for silver also.

Silver.....?
With a name like
Clockwork Orange
I had assumed the obvious!
But either way I'm sure it will look a real treat!
Can't wait for the pictures Bruce.

Coffee break half way through sanding back and masking up.
It was going to be orange but couldn't find the colour I wanted so it will be silver with orange bits and pieces and depending on how it looks silver I may put a 4" orange stripe over it.

Yes Bruce that sounds good.
I had imagined a metallic orange, I have sen a few Commodores over the past 10 or so years that have been different shades of Orange.
But your Silver with orange high lights sounds great.
Keep up the good work.

Did you get all the painting done you set out to do. I really do like the silver. It matches the engine bay. I know in some respects it boring silver but it really looks good Bruce. I hope you are going to leave it as is.
I was looking at your original post back in 2003 and you had already done heaps on it then. its been a long haul, 10 years. Do you think you could start another project as big as that now?
Looking forward to see it out at A & D for its wheel alignment when its done

Everything done as planed, just started on the re assembly of the doors.
the biggest issue was always the silver paint, it is the hardest colour to paint and the system I was going to use was going to be even harder, which is why I have delayed getting it finished, but now I an happy with the colour I just need to finish the tray, guards and bonnet.
still a few months off before the wheel alignment.

From what I have heard it is the hardest colour to match as well. Hope you have plenty spare

Good job Bruce!
The colour looks great and will look great with the orange hi-lights.
I can see many subtle body changes and a few not-so subtle changes!

getting there, colour sanding the clear coat and fitting a few things up like the door sills, door popper solenoids, windscreen wipers. Just not enough energy to get out in the shed after work and put in any more than an hour or two.
Is is shining up nicely with a polish and I might get to put in the front and rear screens this weekend

Hi Bruce!
Having traveled all the way down to your place to see Clockwork I can confirm the work being carried out is Top Class!
Hopefully I'll return to see the finished article in due time.
Thanks for the big welcome and keep the good work up.
