I know there not morries, but this is what i've been playing with lately.

I spotted this lux on a footpath in a back rural st at katoomba, i stopped & knocked on the door, no answer, so i left a note in the box, if your interested in selling etc etc.

A young bloke rang the next day & said he would let it go for $300, but it had a siezed 2.4 diesel & no steering shaft.
I went a couple of days latter & towed it home. plenty of rust, but pretty straight.

I rang a mates young bloke thats into lux's & asked him to keep a look out for a motor, he said he was just doing a 2.8 turbo for his ute & when it was finished in a few weeks time i could have his 2.4 for 150bucks Very Happy Very Happy

meanwhile i pulled the old engine, tones of degreasing to do, & stripped the interior, rubber floor mates etc, & cleaned all the mud & sand out, it had rust holes in both front floors & some right at the back, i cut out the crap & welded in some new steel.

After swaping the injector pumps, & fitting new sump &, rockercover gaskets, timing belt, spigot bearing etc to the new engine it went in & started up no worries.

But then the trouble started Very Happy i found another much better one at ebaneasa, it was in a shed at a small horse stud, it still had plates but i took notice as it was covered in dust & pigion poo.
I left my No. with the missus & didnt think i would here from them, so work continued on the old yellow girl.

About a month later i got a call from the husband, hows 500 sound Very Happy Very Happy i picked it as soon as possible it still had some rust, & a small hit in the pass guard & door, it had lifted aftermarket suspension (ironman) CD player yoohoo & electric brakes, it had run out of rego when the old caretaker left, & had been used around the farm untill a rear wheel cylinder let go, it started strait away (2litre petrol) & i drove it on the trailer.

more later

Ive had good results with a heat gun but you need to be patient and not put too much heat on the panel, just warm it up so that you can peel up a corner then keep the heat on it from a distance as you gently peel it off,if your unlucky you may still lose a little paint.

What a mungrel job, lol i used a heat gun on those strippes today there was 3 down each side 20mm wide, with some heat & a razor blade it came off slow, but the glue stayed put Mad

Thinners just made the glue go guee & spread everywhere, then it set again, aaaarh

Its all clean after lots of swearing.

It worked pretty good on the crappy window tint

it is a wheel that fits into a drill. made of a soft abrasive, they are designed to strip off stickers, pinstripes and adhesive without damaging the underlying paint

Check the compliance plate. That'll tell you how many seating positions you need for rego.
It is legal to temporarily remove the rear seat for a trip (or similar) but it needs to be in for rego.
