so i have fitted a sigma aircon fan to between the grill and radiator, i have it hooked up to a switch in the dash as i like to let the fan run once the car has been swithed off, just fir some extra cooling. I have done this on previous cars and it worked fine, but.....

My question is, can i run a turbo timer style setup to let the fan run for a period of time and the switch off ?? i want to be able to set the time if possible (like a turbo timer) as i like having the control over it.

any help would be great

thanks Nick

Hi Nick.

There is no point in having the fan run after the engine has turned off as it will only be cooling the water in the radiator.

As the engine will be stopped and therefore water pump not turning, cooling in the engine has effectively stopped not to mention the drain on your battery. In this colder weather we need all the cranking volts our battery can supply.

Just remember, for every degree below zero, the battery looses one volt.
