People keep asking if the trafficators (those wig wag things on the B pillar) work. Mine don't and I believe that when they brought in indicators, you weren't allowed to use them anymore.
Is it legal to have them operate with the normal indicators? In these days of side mounted indicators, it would seem to make sense as well as adding a little authenticity.
(actually getting them to work is another issue, and one I won't be facing for a long time yet)

ouch 125 pounds each new and 45 pounds used out of UK
Morris Minor Trafficator/Semaphore Lucas SF80
should still be legal if your morry was originally fitted with them
seems ok these days
for lots of drivers to shove a hand out the window
and use the fingers for other signals

Ouch. A lot to pay for 'a nice touch of authenticity' isn't it. Good thing I'm only wondering if it's possible at the moment, I might have married a rich widow by the time it really matters.

If you are in a club knowing the parts collector is good. Or trawl a few swap meets. And buying some cheap rough ones you can usually piece a few together and get some working. Mine have two wires running to them now. One pre flasher can and one post. With a flasher can for each side and are wired up with the indicators. And therefore flash. And work all the time. Seem to be going well with no issues

On the subject of trafficators, I am involved in assisting with the renovation of a Morris Minor split screen and we are going to delete the trafficators and want to blank off the holes in the door pillars. Blanking plates used to be readily available but seem to have dropped off the radar. Does anybody know where I can get a couple or has it become a DIY job?.

Boeing Bob. | How about using some stainless steel & Sikaflexing it in place from the inside? That way it can be removed later on if need be without damaging the paintwork.
At a quick glance, the stainless might even look like a trafficator too...

Great minds think alike Scott. I did exactly that yesterday except that I used plate steel. There was also a hole right at the top where the seat belt bolt went through. This got the same treatment. As the car is yet to be painted, I am tempted to now fill and contour the cut-out with body filler.
