Preparing the ute for the "Pink Slip" and to my horror , have found that the headlights do not work on low beam, but work perfectly well on high beam.

Parkers, blinkers, brake lights are all working correctly.

Can someone please give me some suggestions on what the problem could be ?? Eye Rolls

If both arn't working could be the dipper switch or both blown check that all the wires are still on the dipper switch, low beam is a blu/red wire

Malcolm. Not more electrical problems?
I have seen this problem before, the cable goes from switch to dip/switch then to lights.
Remove one wire at a time from dipper clean and replace.
Also check joining terminals behind drivers side headlight under bonnet where it runs across to LHS. These bullet terminals corrode a bit clean all with emery paper or steel wool.
Cheers.

Hi Zabond and John,

The problem did relate to the headlight dipper switch.

I personally couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, so off I went to the auto electrician.

He checked out the wiring, and while doing that, fiddled with the connections to the headlight dipper switch, which made the headlights work.

Because the connections were so poor in condition, he replaced them.

( He made a tongue in cheek comment that they could have been the original connections , they were so bad.)

So all is now good, should pass the rego inspection and get one step closer to making it to the Albury Nationals.

John - I'm hoping that there just couldn't be anymore electrical issues that could arise. Mad

But thanks very much again to both of you for assistance.
