G'day All,

I have been viewing this site and quite enjoying it here. So here's a few photos of my 1958 Morris Minor Van.

The Morris Minor Van was purchased by the owner C.T.H Bryne Reg Milk Vender in Goulbourn New South Wales. I have been told that this vehicle was actually used by the owner. The vehicle has been used as a commerical vehicle delivering milk as there are certainly signs of milk stains in the back and still smells of stale milk to this day. The vehicle is all original, and never been restored. There is a small amount of rust (nothing major) and paint wear such as the drivers door, wear you tend you rest your elbow. Even the front seat have saged so a couple of cushins solved that problem. To my knowledge the vehicle has done an genuine 50989 miles. When I purchased the van 8 years ago it did have 48 ??? miles on the speedo. I have had to replace a few items on the van, such as rubbers, suspension bushes and had the radiator repaired, just the usual wear and tear things. The vehicle is currently registered and I do drive the vehicle occasionally.

Year 1958
Model OE51
Chassis 670535/1666
Engine 9MUH 159052
Colour Empire Green

I'm drooling! That is a wonderful original example. Does it not have the rubber strip between the cab and the van back, or am I just not seeing it?

I have recently been in contact with Russell before posting the pictures here and he seems to be very interested as he would like to write an article in the Minor Monthly Magazine. I have been communicating with him over the last few days.

Nope ...

I agree that plastic one does look out of place, however at the time, the the van wasn't being used for 9 months and just sat there ended up with a flat battery so i just purchased a cheaper one just to relocate the van to my new premises. I will be purchasing a better battery when that time comes around.[/quote]

Andrew (& Scott)

This is splendid original Oz van with all the correct features, with Andrew's help I am planning a feature for Minor Monthly but we would both be interested to more about the original Milk vendor himself, so if anyone knows more please tell us as it will add to the article
